West Yorkshire Cup Final

After this years West Yorkshire League , won by Heckmondwike, a knock-out cup competition was held. The format was interesting in that teams of six were required with 3 male and 3 female players. The initial game was a triple with the men and women playing as a triple and the second games being mixed pairs, making for a different format to the usual league play.

Leeds were drawn against Heckmondwike in the first round, and after some very close games, Leeds won 4-1
Leeds were then against Harrogate in the final, played at Heckmondwike as a neutral venue (big thanks to Clive and his club for thier hospitality).

Leeds won both the triples, after some very competitive play and an interruption for a heavy shower. The doubles were equally challenging and although Harrogate won two out of the three Leeds won the match 3-2!

Paul Simpkins was there to present both the League and Cup trophies after the match.
A big thanks to Paul for organising the league again this year and well done team!
